I've driven both a tail dragger and my teener in autox but would like an instructor for the first run of the teener on a race track.

instructor would be gud (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif) at least for a lap or two or three for an unfamiliar track (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif)

Drew,
I will take an instructor at least for the first run, if one is available. Thanks for handling this - I understand that its not a "fun" job, and I appreciate the fact that you are doing it -

QUOTE (rdauenhauer @ Apr 19 2005, 09:15 PM)
perhaps I missed the thread where it was detail but is this going to mbe like an open lapping day where say 3 groups (Race cars, Experianced racers in Street cars & track novices) alternate? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
The other question is ...will the pumps be open at the track? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/unsure.gif) Fast Lapping could burn a LOT of fuel.

Four groups rotating, possibly some time on the skid pad for one group of novices, pumps should be open as they now have a group on the big track but I'm not positive about the pumps.

If you don't like the gas prices lately, you probably won't like the race gas prices at track. Get gas in Rosamond as you get off the freeway.

Thanks for all the replys. I'd still like to hear from a few more guys, even if you'd rather not have an instructor I'd like to hear from you. Post or email me. Thanks.

I will pilot on my own if I make it. The station wagon tour will do me fine. Nothing like spinning into the desert (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Toast should have an instructor for the first session.....

Thanks Drew!

I would definitely appreciate an instructor. The closest I've been to a track is a single trip around a kart track.

Am I placed in the novice class or the intermediate class?

If in the novice class, I'd take an instructor part of the time. If I was in the intermediate class, I wouldnt worry.. Im on the fence, I know how to drive, not super fast, but quick enough.. Id like to share the v8 experience with someone else though..

Ill pass on the instructor, as long as I can follow around someone familiar with the track a couple of laps. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)
I doubt Ill be pushing it to the point of punting myself into the desert as I have to be able to drive the 1k or so miles home (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)
