...I didn't get Rich's shirt out in time. I feel like a schmuck...

no reason to feel bad - i still want the shirt!

fact of the matter is that it was chilly, breezy, and drizzly all day long until the final 30 minutes we packed the car (and 1 hr before the huge line of thunderstorms rolled through) so i was in my GoreTex parka all day and i don't think anybody could have seen what i was wearing. (except for when i had the 914Club hat on, which was most of the time...)

despite taking time from work to finish setting up the studio i didn't have anything new to show either. (although i -do- have the studio functional now...)

didn't buy anything but coffee, fries, and crab cake sandwiches. sold a couple of parts. got a 914Club "special price" (free...) for a small perk part, which was nice and is appreciated, but i'm not going to say who or what because i wouldn't want that person's generosity to devolve into people being pissed off because they didn't get the perk too. suffice to say - if you wear the Club colors to a big event, often you will be rewarded...

and Friday i did take delivery of my 2,7 long block. price was right and it was running in a 911 just a couple of weeks ago. it's got one MotorMeister rebuild on it so it'll be interesting to see what it's like once i get into it. but i think the plan is to do a minimal transplant with the set of Webers from the 914.6 and a clutch (mine started slipping Friday...)

had fun in the booth, borrowed an EZ-Up which kept us dry, and we were showing "Le Mans" on J's widescreen notebook HP -- nobody took us up on the free popcorn tho!

Anyone know the guy that sold the Yellow 914 wit the Lightspeed banner on the windshield. I was set up in the space next to him, his name is Ron.

He told me he lives just across from the park. Need to get in touch with him.

I was there with the Ravenna green one in the parkign lot. Met the owner of L&N engineer and felt a nickie. OVerall, I was surprised how the people are finally realizing what we all knew the 914 is a great porsche. I had a couple of offers on my car and lots of questions. I also got to check out the new Carerra GT. The whole engine compartment was carbon fiber. great day overall, besides the weather. Who is the owner of the blue car in the peoples choice coral, Anyone know?
