We are going to try some special hex head fasteners for the instrument cluster. Something that looks special (Trick).

Our design team are working on the ideas for the door panels.
Working with Eric, Dale and myself we are ending up with the vision of what a custom full leather 914 interior should look like.

Very happy so far.

Alan,

I cannot wait till we can get together with your cars so we will have a triple 1970 Cannery yellow 914 picture. What will the neighbors say?

That is going to be one sweet looking dash/interior.
I also can't wait to see what the finished product looks like.

Under dash in leather, installed. Glove box door with special welting and leather weave, installed.

Very happy with the interior work that Dale Hancock has been doing.

I really like that your keeping a lot of the custom touches from the past and adding in your own. The older mods hold up as being period correct but not “wacky”. A lot of it reminds me of the “satanic details” thread on earlySreg. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

PMB getting the speakers mounted and cleaning up my original grills.
Fancy knobs for Front lights, fog lights, and Cibie frogs like Oscar has. Plus, they are making up an Emergency flasher knob.
The speakers are Polk Audio brand and that reminds me of a song I used to sing…

“Down in Louisiana, where the alligators grow so mean,
There lived a girl, that I swear to the world,
Made the alligators look tame, …
Polk salad Annie, POLK salad Annie
Everybody said it was a shame
Cause her momma was a workin' on the chain gang
(A mean vicious woman) yea, Polk salad Annie, the gators got your granny, ah ooo,
Everybody said it was a shame,
Cause her momma was a workin' on the chain gang,
(Sock a little Polk salad to me, you know I need me a mess of it)”

My car is getting closer (Better) all the time.
Lots of details. Vent slider face new with LED lights in blue and red so we know when they are on. Custom knobs including one for the Frog lights coming. Car is balanced for load with me the big boy in driver’s seat and tank of gas. Eric is using all his skills.

It may be on the road for a test in the next few weeks.

Reminds me of a song:
Getting Better by The Beatles

It's getting better all the time

I used to get mad at my school (No, I can't complain)
The teachers who taught me weren't cool (No, I can't complain)
You're holding me down
Turning me round
Filling me up with your rules

I've got to admit it's getting better (Better)
A little better all the time
I have to admit it's getting better (Better)
It's getting better all the time,

It can’t get much
Since you've been mine
Me used to be angry young man
Me hiding me head in the sand
You gave me the word, I finally heard
I'm doing the best that I can
I've got to admit it's getting better

Hot dog.
One of the best looking 914 builds hands down.
Love the dash and the custom little things you are doing.
Get this baby finished quick please! Ha

Changing out the inside door openers to get a leather strap opener like the 911s have from a Singer car. Eric worked out the concept, the rod now runs inside the door and it works. Just one more custom touch from PMB. Thanks! Danny buddie, you can drive it back with me.
