Rebuilt!

Still a killer find!

I'd prefer old school Bosch rebuilt over anything else.

That is if I was staying stock...

Mepstein's harness is what I consider a "Holy Grail" type of part, just beautiful!

There is still one available at Aase sales for about $2k. I think it might have been Luke that tipped me off to the German eBay sale. The wires are really soft and flexible. Feels like it was made yesterday.

NOS (?) AFM for 1.8L. Does the label (“exchange”) indicate it’s been rebuilt or that it can be used in alternate FI systems?
Hadn’t seen one with a “C” at the end; 3rd generation version?

yep - third generation version.

not necessarily a third generation during the production period.
rather - a third generation improvement or revision that was incorporated into the spare part during the time bosh was manufacturing/remanufacturing and supplying the part.

far as i know the production 1.8s just had the plain numbers stamped on - ie version 1.

interestingly the C is only applied to the VW spare part number.
not the bosch part number.
indicates its the latest version of the spare part required for original application.
far as i know original application is the USA EC engine.
meaning its also for 1974 VW 412 which did have exactly the same AFM.(022 906 301).

nice find. one of those things you really want stashed in the cupboard that i don't have.

ohhh! for a six. punched for the oil lines. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

interesting, the crayon scrawl part number is incorrect.
but looks like it was written on back in the day.
hand writing looks almost identical to the scrawl under the dash of my 74. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
those wacky german 1s that look like an arrow.

but iif you zoom in on the photo in the ad and look at the paper tag, part number is correct on tag. 501 943 10.

Rarest thing I've seen yet!

What is that worth today?

The back story on why/how you have that please?

How old is it?

That really is the GRAIL...

There's some really impressive NOS parts in this thread!

That NOS 3.0 probably needs to be gone through. Been sitting around for how many decades?

I’ll let you know what it’s worth when I sell it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) It will probably go on bat in a couple weeks if I don’t sell it in house to one of our customers. I’ll do a separate thread so as not to derail this one.
