Are you doing metal work on the chassis after just having it painted? Not sure if that's dedication or a chemical imbalance (I know what I have, just not sure what you have).

well, it's been 1 1/2 years and the paint is cracking EVERYWHERE ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/icon8.gif)

my *expert* advice, do NOT do single stage repaints, always get at least one coat of clear.
basically, the $5500 are out the window, which kinda sucks big time ...

sooooo, i'm ready to tackle some of the welding issues i should have taken care of before the paint.
i see another repaint in my not so distant future ...

that fuckin sucks.....

is it because the glass is flexing? thus cracking the paint? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

haha, nope. unless they made a uni-glass-body 914 ....

it's cracking "everywhere", cowl, hoods, doors, sail panels, fenders ...
in fact, it looks like the paint holds better on the FG parts than on the metal parts ...

Take it back to the shop that did it. The manufacture of the paint "might" come thur on a repaint for you. If you don't complain you will never know. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

Michael, on the car you are cutting up, how is the front trunk seal channel? I will be needing various pieces. Would you be willing to cut out certian sections for me? Shoot me a price if you could do this. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Don't want more work for yourself, and keep the weight down, good insight.

Andy,

I have access to a roller in Alameda. Haven't taken it because I have no room. We could probably make arrangements to pick it up on Sat. after the auto-cross event.
PM me or call me if you are interested.
