How do you take a screen shot and save it? What programs do you use? I have use windows.

windows has a built in screen shot feature...just hit "print screen" on your keyboard...or "alt-print screen" for a smaller view

this will copy the image, then just paste it into word or a picture program

Alt + PrintScreen copies the currently active window into the clipboard.

then paste & process that with your favorite image software ...
