And the RS has its top painted, by me, because we don't need no stinkin' painters:

And so, I sign off from this thread.
Future contributions will be by Liz. Today was the official end of the build for me. Her car will be attending the WCC, and it is my sincere hope that it performs as well as the RS last year when it left the driveway with only 50 miles (Liz's has 30). |

Well, we're on our way back from the WCC. Sorry no pictures yet, I don't have my camera stuff here in the hotel room. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
On the way out, we were having distributer cap problems, so we drove it all the way to Cortez CO from home, and then trailered it into Salt Lake City. At Eric Shea's house, we did some diagnosing, drinking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif) and brainstorming with Gint(Mike & Sharon Ginter), Eric (Shea), Mw914 (Mike Wills), Ferg (Mike Fergeson) and StratPlayer, and decided to try some stock spark plug wires instead of the Magnacore wires we had purchased to go with the MSD and the Blaster2 Coil. Apparently the MC wires were the wrong resistance. We borrowed some stock wires (THANKS ERIC!!! They'll be in the mail back to you when we get home,) and the distributer cap stopped blowing up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) So Luckie and Joe and I continued on to Portland with the car on the road and the RS on the trailer. She drove 20.5 of the 26.5 hours it took us to get there, and only was on the trailer for 6. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) On the run up to Mt. Hood, though, more trouble. The bushings in the shift coupler somehow spat out, and I only had 3-5 gears. No R-1-2. Not fun when trying to get up that hill with the traffic stopping ALL THE DAMN TIME!!! My clutch really took a beating. We hobbled it back to I-84 after the lunch, and came back to the hotel. She's going to be riding on the trailer all the way home.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Not really a fix that we want to undertake on the road, if'n ya know what I mean. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welder.gif) We had a great time, though!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving-girl.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/jsharp.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif) Keep an eye out for the updates as I finish this car when we get home. I still have lots to do!!! OH My God! You must be at least $300.00 over the cost that Niko quoted me. Your going to be in for it with him I'm sure. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

$18,300 including car, paint, conversion, engine suspension, wheels/tires etc. etc. That is pretty frugal with all the parts considered!
