Everyone keeps telling me they like the videos I put up from our track weekends, so here's another from this past weekend at Summit Point Raceway with Potomac Region PCA.
Never been to Summit before. Doing some practice for the September PCA Race there. For those that don't know, PCA now has a 'Vintage' group for racing - 4 classes: V4U/V4O (4 cyl under/over 2L) VU/VO (6 cyl under/over 2.4 L) I plan to run in VO. By the end of the weekend, I got my lap time down to 1:21, which based on last year would put me in the top 2-3 cars. Gonna be more cars this year, with higher competition, but I'm pretty satisfied with my first time out. Nadine took a day or so to get comfortable with the track, but by the end was feeling good and running good lap times. Those that know our history of engine issues can understand how totally excited we are that we are STILL running trouble free weekends with Papa Smurf. All weekend, only 2 issues: steering wheel felt loose while I was in grid so I came in...27mm nut was VERY loose. And...dumbass me ran out of gas on my last session!! Didn't cause a delay for anyone, but had to be towed in...embarassing... This video is of my entire last session...with a couple lessons learned for video taking at the end. Enjoy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o86sjX22SLY |

Bob,
What is the displacement of the /6 you rebuilt for this car? and what is your competition running in that upcoming race? |

Cool post!
SPR is my home track and I plan on fielding Little Bastard there at FATT hopefully within this season (still sorting a few things). I'm curious to know if you happen to know your entry speed at T1? Btw, 1.21 is very impressive! David |

Bob, What is the displacement of the /6 you rebuilt for this car? and what is your competition running in that upcoming race? Engine is 3.2L. Just about any air cooled car earlier than 1983 with an engine over 2.4L/6...so yeah...a 4.0 liter could be my competition!! Based on last year, the fastest lap time in VO was 1:19, so I have some work to do. In normal PCA racing, I run GT4...fastest lap at Summit in GT4 is 1:16!!! And...I took all my GT4 weight out (nearly 170#). So I have A LOT of work to do.... Cool post! SPR is my home track and I plan on fielding Little Bastard there at FATT hopefully within this season (still sorting a few things). I'm curious to know if you happen to know your entry speed at T1? Btw, 1.21 is very impressive! David Speeds on the video are correct, the SC just didn't know the track so it never knew start/finish to give me a "lap".
