Excuse my absence, I have been busy with other stuff but I have not been ignoring the car.
Another WOW @ 70,000 viewers.

I'm finally happy with the work I have done on the diffuser. The shape is good. I stole the line from the back of rear trunk lid.
Hey Paul, yes but it takes a hole package. I've got a lot of work to do under the car. And it starts with skinning the bottom of the aluminum angles in the picture.

I just wanted to see this picture.

Attached Image

Excuse me but how Kool is that!!!!
The front mounting bracket fits but needs a little messaging. Now I can start on the top mount, that's fuching trick. Doing all of this with the frame open really helps see the space available. I was thinking about some more grill work in the panel about 5" down from the top of the panel.

Hello all y'all, on June the first this thread went over 70,000 viewers. Today it went over 71,000. My goodness over a thousand viewers in a week. I turn 76 next week. I wonder how long it will take to get it to 76 thousand? I am hoping to drive it today. We'll see.

So nothing has worked out the way I wanted it to. I believe that I could get the diffuser screwed together but it ain't gonna look awesome. I bought an English wheel, some thing cheap. I will be able to finish off the diffuser and I only figured it would be my first English wheel. I've wanted one for years... Now I'll be able to fit the skin to the buck.

Thanks Paul, well ya know I been wrong before. Mean while I have made some nice additions to the shop. I've always had a problem with tool storage so I bought some. And of course the Bead Roller but now I have an English wheel. Just to see how it works on the diffuser.

Attached Image

I am a UTube junkie and I will figure it out. The curvature of the tail of the trunk lid seems a constant radius so that's how I am treating it. I need to get nearly 90° s of a bend the length of the diffuser on about 22". With the new tool storage the hand tools disappear. I feel better already and I still have a bunch of work in here too finish the clean up.

Getting to some wheeling. I cut a piece of aluminum to practice wheeling, learn tracking and figure out something about pressure. I have about a half hour in this and it has the correct shape.

Attached Image

This piece is only 14" long but the one for the car is 48". It's going to be a learning experience...

Today is my 10th anniversary here in my house. Closed escrow on 7-3-2014. The shape of the panel I just produced is perfect and will help me with a decision on the exhaust system. What I'm thinking about is dial megaphones with supertraps. But they interfere with the diffuser. I'm trying to fit them in-between the stakes and I thinking about it all the time. I have a slip roller. But just like anything else I have no idea yet.

Thanks Scott, this is giving me body Rushes. Tons left to do like, streaks, flanges, latches and attachment points. Upon finishing the skirts I can put a sign that says, check out her bottom look under her skirt.

So close, in the picture looking closely you can see that the diffuser skin needs some shrinkng on both ends to make it match the aluminum angle backing who's shape matches the rear of the car. The strakes supports also need shrinking, that and the brace across the back and I can try a fitting. Just dreaming but it would be nice if it can be propped up in place.

The latches upside down, the square tubing gets bolted to the brackets attached to the flange on the inside of diffuser.

Yesterday the new mufflers arrived and they need to penetrate the skin on the diffuser. I need to make up flanges with a 2" nipple. That gives me the option for the exit location.

Attached Image

Supertraps 2" x 4" megaphones 18" long. Straight out the back, sorta.

Now with 75,000 viewers I am aghast. So many people looking to see what the fuck I'm doing. Well here's another picture of something only I would be foolish enough to think it could be done. The diffuser placed in about the position it would belong in.

Attached Image

It appears low but it's still above the exhaust collector which it needs to go under as it is the low place on the car. Gunna have to put some tits on her bottom to clear the collectors

I've been getting the mufflers ready for bracketing. You know, I like lightening holes so I am really enjoying the loud option on the Super traps. Just bring a hole it puts a smile on my face. Visually it appears attractive to me. We'll see later if I still like them after listening to them.

Attached Image

I am waiting for prime to deliver a new blade for my band saw, then I get to attack the brackets and the flanges. Oh, still waiting on the flanges too.
These mufflers are so Kool man.

I've come to another change, this one is in the latches on the diffuser. Those Hot trick rotary latches are out and Dr. Seuss's dzus fasteners are in. I found some newer hotter tip push button dzus fasteners.
In the picture I have the finished muffler brackets. One has a piece of scrap that I can use for the pattern for the muffler struts. And the flanges are in the back ground ready to be tracked in place, that will make them ready for fitting. Can't wait to see it all together. The diffuser covers everything except for the tail of the mufflers.

Attached Image

The pushbuttons dzus fasteners are amazing. Once the pin has located the hole just a minute amount of pressure sets the latch. I thought I was ordering ones that could replace the ones that I had planned on using. From the pictures it seemed a direct replacement. So these buttons were a real pleasant surprise.
There is a lot of information in that picture. The flanges for the mufflers are going to be welded at an angle for fitment. Their set up to be welded.
Old style dzus fasteners down in the bottom right.
