In Sept there was a thread called "Crankcase Breathers" but it seemed geared toward 4 cyl and more stock set ups through valve covers.
Forrestkhaag showed me his set up at 914 Fun Day in Temecula but other than that I have seen little for a 6. I know some kind of small tank and filter is needed. Anybody use an EMPI alum box? Suggestions for good mounting spots near the 6 tank oil filler? Pictures much appreciated! Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Weighs nothing, no cutting, no drilling, easily reversed, practically invisible, nice fit into stock breather hose. Plus you can actually see residue if blow-by is increasing. Not visible in the photo are slits along the top to allow breathing. Yes, I've fixed the fuel line snap and removed the rag. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Here's mine in the 6 on the firewall right behind the driver's seat. It's a modified hiking water bottle in powder-coated aluminum... for the budget conscious builder. Hardly ever gets any oil in it. K&N breather filter.

It was great to look in this morning and find 3 responses with yours being the first! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Looks really professional and thanks for your idea and pictures. What looks to be a sight gage is pretty cool looking. Can you please tell me where the two hoses trail off to in the trunk? Thanks again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

K&N breather filter. Ron Very creative and nice looking, the German clamp is a great touch! Like "for the budget conscious builder" because at this point it would be cool not to spend much on this tid bit. Great ideas so far! Thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Looks really good! Does it come complete just like that with filter and drain? I'll check it out. Thanks for the idea and the picture! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

Has anyone tried venting the tank to the top of the Weathershield air cleaner assembly? I assumed that may be the purpose of the drilled hole on the side of the upper assembly.

Thanks again (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) They just poke out the bottom to apply a bit of rust preventive to the underside of the hot trunk floor.....
