Just got home from a business trip and "working" from home today. Still foggy here in Santa Cruz. May burn off in the afternoon.

Yeah I'm sitting on my deck "working" looking down through redwoods to the ocean as I type this. (wireless networking is the coolest!) Sun is now trying to break through the fog where I live in Bonny Doon. Likely to be clear by the afternoon in Santa Cruz.

Pull off the trim, and looky here! a nice nest of Carpenter Ants complete with with larva and a really REALLY big ant. I think she is the queen

So much for working on Ugmo this weekend... oh well, beer in th fridge and rolled out the bbq!

Let me look out the window and check for you... yep, Rainier and foothills are still there. If you come through Auburn and up the hill past the Muckleshoot Casino, wave to the blue SC taking it's driver to work. Supposed to sprinkle (definition for SoCal guys: water in small droplets falls from the sky out of white fluffy things--sorry, couldn't resist (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) ) Sunday so enjoy yourselves and take a GPS unit with you even for a simple hike. We don't want a repeat of what just happened on the snowfields below Muir.

Thank you to ALL veterans, and especially to the "Greatest Generation"!

Made the trip to Santa Cruz anyway and it was gorgeous! Sunny with a slight breeze, not too hot. I got a good tan started. Summer is fantastic!
