When we bought the 914-6 from an estate a few months ago one of the first things I noticed was the door panels. Having never owned a 914-6 before I just thought they must have been upgraded by Porsche for the more expensive 6. My friend, who has owned many 914's said they were aftermarket and I'm confident that he is correct.
But who made them? They are very similar to the door panels in a mid-70's 911 so I'm guessing thats when they were produced. |

Complete customization as you already realized. Looks like an early 911 pocket grafted to a custom padded door panel. Looks nice and I like the pocket it provides.

Getty Design in Santa Ana Calif made them a number of years ago. No longer on their website. They also make the Getty Dash (911 Style).

I think those were done by 914 A&P on here.

We make the cards, just not the handle / pocket. It is however a modification of a 911, so may be able to modify 911 stuff to fit.

I got the very same set up from Original Fit Interiors. Great work, but slow and quirky to work with

Maybe JIM (Lucky9146) will chime in with pictures of his door panels. Oscar Yes sir and I recall you commenting on them when you were here too. I just received the other early chrome window crank and door pull base from Garold (thanks!) yesterday. I like the early chrome versions and I had the one door pieces already so couldn't wait to install them last nite. Had to get pics off camera. I love these door panels! What is especially cool is both sides are the same. They came with the project and I did not know where they came from so I am learning something here too. It is funny when I opened this thread I it was mine at first! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) Was: Later black crank and pull base before IS: Early Chrome versions, wanted a little bling. I've never been a huge fan of the mismatched door panels on a stock 914. I wish somebody made the same stock passenger handle/rest that resides on the passenger door panel for the driver's side.

Those are the same panels I have on my 75. I got them about15 years ago from an advertiser in Panorama. I can't remember which one

I had also seen this company's adverts in Panorama, Gmünd magazine (preceded Excellence); located in Montclair CA.
One man operation Can't remember the guy's name, worked out of his garage at home. The place smelled like a glue sniffers paradise (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) I had quite a buzz driving out of Montclair ¡ I had the panels done in 1/2 basket weave and 1/2 pleats...I liked the 70's 911 style. No room for arm rests with the side-bars. I still dig these today (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

I don't know. I kinda like the 914 style. Different left and right. Quirky. Odd. Like the 914.
We buy a 914 and then we spend time, energy, and money to turn it into a 911. You want a 911 interior? Buy a 911. |

IS: Early Chrome versions, wanted a little bling. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) [/quote] That is the passenger door handle on the drivers side door. The lock button should be on top. |
