Love the clean look of the shaved warts! Nicely done. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif)
I have no clue what you are thinking with the horrible fake knockoffs though. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) They don't even come close to fitting with those wheels. Especially with all the lugs showing. It's like a booger I want to flick off. |

The light are good and look right on a USA 914.
Sorry for the cold water bath but...removing them is a technical violation of USA vehicle laws. Now whether or not you would be cited is another matter that would depend on circumstances. Kind of like removing the emission equipment from a pre-'76 car. The sidemarker lights are there for safety reasons. USA laws require the lights so that the turnsignals and running lights can be seen from another vehicle facing yours, approaching from the side. Thats why new cars have wrap around lights front and rear nowadays. Your car, your choice, your risk. YMMV. |

Mine were removed by PO at least 20 yrs ago. Looks great in my opinion. Just drive smart and everything should be fine.

USA laws require the lights so that the turnsignals and running lights can be seen from another vehicle facing yours, approaching from the side. This is true, when restoring my '71 Volvo 1800E I shaved the huge rectangular side markers and replaced them with tiny LED side markers instead of going completely without... think of the small ones behind the front wheels of a Ferrari 458. I also relocated them behind the front wheels too, made more since and looked better. I went White lens, orange LEDs. I'm generally against a whole lot of modernizing, but these are subtle and I like having the extra visibility. Will be doing the same to my 914. |

The warts are one of my favorite features of a 914. They are bold and beautiful. Stop removing them!
