 2056cc with 94mm dished, can someone explain how ? |

I was under the impression that a 2056cc engine was always a 96mm bore x a 71mm stroke... but the following link is a set of 94mm pistons and specifies 2056cc engine. They are dished pistons and I'm wanting to understand how this works out. Anybody understand how this works and can offer an explanation? thx.

94mm x 71mm gives you 1971cc.
You can get a 2056cc motor with 94mm pistons, but you need a longer stroke to do it. About 74.3mm would do it. But that's not what they have in the ad; they are saying 94x71. I agree with Jim; it's a typo that has propagated. --DD |

Displacement is just math. There can be no tricks. 94x71 is 1971. 96x71 is 2056. That's it and nobody can change that. Anyone or anything that says differently is mistaken or lying.

It is a typo, but just be aware those are the AA part number for 94mm dished pistons. It' should say 1971cc

It' should say 1971cc Yes the AA website says 2000cc as a general description, rounding up from 1971 just like Porsche did (2.0L).. as I mentioned Texas Aircooled is the only one who has it completely wrong by specifying 2056cc. I now assume typo too (like the rest of y'all), highly doubt that's intentional tho. |

volume of a cylinder = pi r squared h, so 3.14159 x 48squared x 71 = 513914.29...mm cubed. Multiply by 4 to get 2,055,657.17 cubic mms, then divide by 1000 to convert to ccs and you end up with 2055.657 cc displacement....

That's for 96mm pistons. The pistons in question are 94mm.
