@Cairo94507
Taking another look at arranging the LEDs in a round pattern. The best that can be done is 7 LEDs as shown below. I think this will work as all the LEDs are still backed on the other side of the board by the heat sink. As long as the LEDs are backed by the heat sink the thermals should be manageable. Plus the power dissipation of the LEDs will be 7/8 of the current LED foglight as it has 8 LEDs and thermals are ok with it. The switching module is the most sensitive component with 100C maximum operating temperature. The LEDs are good to 150C. The LEDs do not look like they would interfere with the switching module through-hole pins. The notches in the circumference of the board are to make room for the bezel clips. I may try to spread out the LEDs but the converter positioning may cause issues. |

Got the first boards with LEDs in a round pattern. I spread them out as much as possible. With 7 LEDs running 350mA, each unit will burn 7.5W and should stay nice and cool.
@Cairo94507 Michael these are your LEDs. Please send me the bezel and glass lens from your fogs and I'll install these boards. PM sent. Attached image(s) |

@Cairo94507
Michael, finally got your foglights assembled. Doing burn-in right now. They look really good and the round LED pattern fit the fixture nicely. The power dissipation for each foglight is 7W. Attached thumbnail(s) |
