72. Bought my first 914 in 1975, a ‘71 1.7. Currently own 3 914’s, 4 if you count the ‘72 parts car like my wife does. Picture is of “our” 73 1.7 taken in 2020 (guess where) before it was painted green. Still trying to get it back together.

@Unpretentious
Sweet, the overlook just thru the tunnel at Yosemite Valley…with snow on the ground no less. I remember driving my new ‘73 1.7 overnight so I could get that view at sunrise in ‘74. The road into the Valley from Oakhurst is one of my all time favs; twisty, perfectly banked, one turn leads you into the next. Traded that one in on a VW camper bus in ’77. Lifestyle change. I’m 75 now and have two ‘74 2.0’s. The appeal never dies.

Would be interesting to see a graph of the ages.

Although he probably has better things to do @Sirandy could probably do a graph of all members here. I would be affected by those who no longer have a 914 or have died.

I am 60. Met Betty in 1985, and she had her 914. Everyone can blame her for me being here.

We got married November 19, 1988. This is how we left the chapel.

At 60, it is getting harder to get in and out of the 914s, and harder to get out there and work on them. But I am not a quitter, I will keep all three of them running until I can't hold a wrench.

When you're 73 you'll forget if you've already posted.....
First was a 914-6. Sold it and raised a family. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I'm the one in black shorts and look young out camping with 2 bikes and gear in the -6.

87 years old, still working & married 59-years to a young lady much younger than me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
Still have my 914 purchased in 1995 than restored by me with over 2,500 manhours of my time, plus help on my motor build. Lots more to the story (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif)
Still feel young, just getting a little crusty with you young ones under 40-years old (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hissyfit.gif)

I am so happy to see many folks much older (that’s all relative)than me enjoying their 914. I hope I have the opportunity to enjoy mine for many more years.

I seem to be one of the few to still drive a 914 at track days and hill climbs events ...

Turning 67 in a few days! I'm a kid compared to Tom (TJB)!!!

Average age of tomorrows birthday group 57.75 which is right in line with our thinking about 60. I just turned 66 myself.

You are a GREAT encouragement to me as I'm a young 79.

And my 7 year restoration by myself (with lots of help from RichB45) has taken about 500 hours I think.....cannot imagine 2,500!

We're both far from average......

Owned my first 914 in 1972 for a few years. I bought the second one in 2019. I'm 73 now and the car makes me feel like I am 21 all over again.
