Seems that I have strayed off smoggy for a few days in a row culminating in the adoption of this s2! And let me tell you, she is all that and a bag of chips! Beautiful car... @markhoward But yes, let's get some focus back on Smoggy, shall we? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) |

That would be a BUICK Riviera (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) Finally getting around to working on the drywall in the laundry room remodel. I'm not the best when it comes to doing this type of work, but I'm sure it'll look much better when it gets taped & mudded ... and painted (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) You need to fill those gaps with something besides mud before you tape & float. 930 update:
Lots of time cleaning the case, checking bearing clearances. New pistons and jugs from Mahle. Upgrading from 3.3L to 3.4L. We weighed the rods, pistons, and wrist pins so we can make sure they are within tolerance and can balance out any weight differences. With everything balanced out, there's less than a half a gram between each piston/rod assembly. We're calling it for the day. Tomorrow we'll finish assembling the bottom end and then start putting in pistons and jugs. |

Yep, still nothing done on the 914 (HOWARD). Trying to figure out how to get it to move so I can get it on the mid-rise lift. I may have to rig up a winch to pull it several feet backwards (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)
Getting ready to drop off my Yamaha XT250 at the local dealership for a factory recall session. Been a while since I had it out for a ride, had to put air in the tires and spray the chain with lube to make it roll up the ramp onto the carrier a little easier ... Want to have it ready for a camping trip we have planned in June ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biker.gif) |

Use the dirtbike to move the 914 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) I would, but it won't start ... that's why it's going to the dealership to get fixed.I have another idea though ... maybe I can get this to move it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) |

Busy with other issues in my life. We have a visitor in my garage.
This picture is named "Strange Bedfellows." It is a 1927 Chevy touring car. It was my Father's. It is in my garage while they come out to do an appraisal on his house for estate probate. My dad passed away the Saturday before Christmas. I am dealing with the selling of his cars now. I have to go get the 1970 Impala custom at lunch today. It won't fit down my driveway, so it has to park out front. This picture is a few years old. My parents were in North Carolina on the Tail of the Dragon. That's my Dad, hauling ass in the big boat of a Chevy. He was a West Virginia country boy, and grew up driving on roads like that. I figure he could probably could have kept up with a pack of 914s on roads like that. I come by my need for speed honestly. After he told me about his drive down the Dragon, I went out and found the pictures. Then I had this made. He had it hanging in his office, and would always show it to all his Chevy club friends. It now will hang in my den, with all the other car stuff. If you know anyone who is looking for a car like either of these, let me know. We are going to consign them, but if I can find a buyer before then, I will sell them outright. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Clay |

After 2 years of having the parts, finally installed my big brakes on the S6 Avant (wagon). Went from 2-piston front to 6 piston 17Z Porsche with .5” larger rotors and upgraded to D3 A8 rear rotors that are 2” larger and associated caliper hanger to make it work.
Should be less butt-clenching when highway braking loaded up for a week long trip to the beach. . Attached image(s) |

Played hooky from work and went on a drive with my LVR-PCA friends.
Everyone opted for water cooled (meaning air-conditioned) over air cooled today. |

Took the spyder to a local C&C this morning, and then went to a party for the PCA Scottsdale Treffen volunteers tonight.
Will be adjusting crank end play on the silver '71's engine tomorrow, so does that count?? |
