Those of us with healthy children need to read this, pay attention, and thank God (providence, the fates, whatever you believe in) for our good fortune. Sher and Steve must have a grand canyon sized hole in their souls right now.
But..what a privilege they had to know this young, brave little man. They did all they could for him, loved him, hoped for him, and showed him joy. THUMBS UP??? My God what grace and courage! I will never forget Easton, nor what Carl and the rest of us did for this family. To Steve and Sher, thank you for allowing us to share in this ordeal; thank you for showing us courage and dignity. Thank you for loving Easton! this is Dana, age 12. Attached thumbnail(s) |

I find it much easier to be patient with my brood these days. The legacy of a brave little boy my family never met. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif)

Yes... I've given Hunter a little bit tighter squeezes since dealing with all of this. I'm so thankful he's hangin in there. Helping Steve's family has been good therapy for me too.
I'm looking forward to meeting Steve & Sher one day (hopefully at the next WCC). Any dates set yet? |

I have noticed these little people that are so sick have a certain aura about them. It's like they have grown up sooner and are more intellegent and aware of life around them. Aware they may die at any given time and their outlook on the time they have is something that you & I cannot comprehend.
I think it is an awareness given them from Him above and it puts them at a higher level which Easton demonstrated with his "thumbs up" to his Mother. Imagine, at 2 1/2 years old and he gives "thumbs up"... I'm gonna be OK Mom..... don't worry.............. ........b (sniff) |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) my wife works on the oncolgy unit at The Childrens Hospital in Denver. sometimes she comes home with the most amazing stories about the accomplishments of the children in her unit. RIP Easton. The ironic thing is that now he will be looking after his parents. Hope Steve and Sher are doing OK |

A very hard read. Glad to learn a little more about the little man that touched my family.
I get to travel to Texas next weekend and will spend a lot of time with the grandkids, enjoying their company, and telling them about ^Easton^. His story is one of courage. Two thumbs up ^EASTON^! I look forward to meeting you in the Hereafter. We'll talk cows, tractors, and 914s! |
