My office is in the same area as Chris. Will be leaving here Saturday morning for Ventura (30 ish freeway miles or 40 on the canyons).

There's a Starbucks/Crispy Creme around the corner at Albertsons market, 5770 Lindero Canyon Road at Thousand Oaks Blvd.

Figure to leave around 8:30am, but flexible, so let me know.

The gathering at my place is a YES for Saturday afternoon/evening.

I think last year we left Ventura around 2:30-3:00? I will look up the Autofest schedule and see if there is any reason to stick around until a certain time.

I will post details ASAP, hopefully tonite after work.

Man this sounds pretty dang cool! Maybe I need to make the trip down. Hey Jim you heading down alone? Want some company? I'm not sure if i can swing it yet but I should know by Friday 5th.
Hey is it a good place to sell a 914? People with lots of money like the freaks on ebay! I'm sure my 73' 2.0 should bring in the mid 20k (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

B-

2 years back, posted on Rennlist -- Tranny fried in Santa Nella, I think the car was telling me it needed pea soup, or something. So any one have a extra seat (who would be going back through Ventura on the return) for Chris's thing? It's a lot more fun to take the "back" way to his house.

Jamie this just your kind of place, freaks like on ebay running around with fists full of dollar bills looking for someone to give them to.
I will put the tow dolly on the back of the Jeep and we can tow your 914 down there. You can go also, only thing you have to ride in the 914.
The German Autofest closes at 5:00pm on Sat. the for sale corral and industry exhibts go until 5:00pm. Only one thing I notice on the schedule is that there is no Swap meet on Saturday. WTF last year it was both days.

Ah... Many moons ago after the German Autofest, I recall getting shitfaced at Don's off his home brew. Yum... I'll make sure I get a designated driver as well. Does DD have to be nekkid? (DD=Designated Driver, not Dave Darling.) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

I remember that home brew, damn good stuff. I also remember driving home from his place when I saw red lights in my rearview mirror on the 101. God was I happy it was the guy next to me that got pulled over and not me, even if I wasn't "drunk". But I guess I would be happy it wasn't me even if I didn't have (slight) beer breath... I'm working on a batch of cream ale right now, unfortunately I don't think it will be ready for consumption by the autofest (it will only have a week in the bottles). Other wise I would bring plenty for all to enjoy.

OK folks. Sorry for the delay in getting the official word out. Here is the link for the 9/13 fun run and gathering after the Autofest.

http://www.nosubstitute.org/events/Autofes...13Sept03/funrun

Be sure to download the PDF of the more detailed directions and maps. I will try to update this handout further before the event, especially if any construction detours spring up suddenly between now and then. (That seems to happen a lot around here.) In the -extremely- unlikely chance that it rains, we'll probably scrub the event and meet up someplace indoors in Ventura.

To summarize, the basic plan is to meet in the Exhibit Hall around 2:45 and leave around 3:00. We'll travel down the coast (PCH Hwy 1) and then take a fun, but not "too crazy" canyon route over the Santa Monica mountains and end up at my house in Agoura. Bring your swim gear and any food/drinks you'd like to contribute; we'll grill up some burgers had have plenty of beer and soda on ice.

Odds are high that it will be a gorgeous SoCal day and the Autofest should be even bigger and better than before. I look foward to seeing you on 9/13!

Brad we could just load the 3.6 in my truck (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) That way you can take the twistys! I'm sure I would see you again in a few years with my nicely done up 914-6 conversion (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

As long as I got a deal on one of them no problem! I was thinking of making a sign out of a 914 body! Basically just the sides stuck together. SO you would only get the side view. Anyone want to donate the perfect shell & we'll have a 914pizza sign building weekend! Free pizza!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif)

Since no one wants the 356 top....I will be using THAT as my sign at the Auto Fest....black background, some color of spray paint..... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Malmz tentative schedule (if anyone cares!!!)

Since I'm feeling bad about it, I will probably go to my boy's soccer game Saturday. Right after the game, head up to Ventura in the 914. If the schedule is too tight, I'll meet you guys outside of the fairgrounds since it's not worth the $$ to go in for a half hour... if it works out that I'm there earlier, I'll go in. Then I'll do the drive to Chris's place.

Sunday I'm planning on bringing the truck and boy and spending the day (at least most of the morning) looking at the exhibits and doing the swap meet thing.

I'll have the cell with me.
