Looking great as usual! Is that the yoke the guy in the samba sells? Looks a lot like mine...and I did the same hole mods. If it’s the same, the flange of the yoke may be in the way of getting the #3 wrist pin in. I had to swap the yoke to the other side once #1 was done. Just a heads up (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) are you going stock or something bigger?

More new stuff: LED light bulbs. I plan to replace all possible original bulbs. I did order the wrong bulbs for the instruments, so have to try again (and wait).

Car is looking great. Could you post the name of the company you sourced these from. Thanks.

Yes, from the vendor on Samba. Thanks for the heads up.

I plan a modest bump to 2056.

Not much 914 time today. I had some office work to do and then swapped the snow tires off my wife's car.

I did clean the left side of the case and "stuck" them together on the stand.

I did remove the stock plug on the front left side, to make sure this gets sealed with the other new plugs.

I started an experiment with restoring interior trim vinyl. I plan to apply various amounts of different materials, starting with commercial vinyl treatments. The first to arrive was 3M Leather & Vinyl Restorer.

After a couple of applications over 24 hours--not much change in the plastic softness, just a shiny finish. I will try something else.

Confirmed that the plugs do not block the internal galleries.

Made sure the plug on the right side is flush with the casting surface, so no interference with the flywheel.

Time to start engine assembly. Here's the polished crank plus the components for the front end.

With the bearing in place, time for the cam drive gear.
