So I could finally get back to engine work, and mount the rods on the crank.

Great idea for a crank stand...

While in place, I scribed the bearings to help get them aligned when installing the crank.

I then got out the bags of hardware for the engine case and heads. Time to get busy cleaning and inspecting.

I chased the threads with a die. Still some crud on the bolt ends.

After watching Ian's videos, I decided to test fit the crank in the case.

Here's the crank the numbers 1 and 4 bearings lubed and installed.

Left case half installed, and the case through-bolts moderately tightened.

And...the crank spins smoothly. Now I can put it together for real.

I decided to get the rear window ready to install, so I can get on to more interior stuff.

Another milestone, since this is the first piece of glass I pulled out of storage. But the rear window looks pretty gunky.

The PO sure believed in silicone. This is from the inside! The outside had a good portion of overspray.

After scraping, solvent, and windex, the window looks pretty good and ready to install.
