Looking fantastic. Paint looks outstanding in the sunshine.
Glad it fired up for ya. Quite the journey.

Thanks, Dion. The color still does not look true on my screen, but that's not a real problem.

Before welding, I disconnected the battery, but first checked the clock: perfect after about 24 hours.

Then I welded the new corners on both brackets. I used all the rags I had handy to protect paint and other surfaces from splatter. Also a good way to set lots of little fires.

Then some grinding followed by a flappy sanding wheel.

Primed (with a brush, since I figured I could get a final paint finish at least as good as it was).

Badge from above. I know not everyone is a PCA fan, but I have been a member for 30 years, and enjoyed some good friendships and fun times.

With the top in the trunk, the rear corners still have space above the tail light housings. The sides just make contact with the inner fenders.

And the position of the latch, with a couple of washers. I did make sure the latch would still release before closing the lid.

Wow Bob, things are really moving along now. Glad you didn't set fire to the car welding those brackets, that might have been a bit of a setback (IMG:style_emoticons/default/lol-2.gif) Looking good.
