But I would rather try something different, probably this. Stay tuned.

I would see if you could find a 42 Draft Design relocation kit and go that way. No longer available new but put up a WTB here and one will show. Or at the very least, go with a hose (I think Tangerine can supply?) and get the splitter away from being directly in the block.
Personally, I've had good luck with the Permatex pictured but have not used it on galley plugs. |

Great detective work Bob, it's probable a bit of oil is coming from several sources.

Congratulations on chasing that down to its likely source. That has to feel great! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Starting to put things back together today. Step 1: clean the thread galley openings.

Now thinking about the oil pressure sender. I know there are options, but I am worried most about oil leaks now, so simple is better. I will mount the VDO sender directly to the case, and like with the "aggressive" idiot light.
In the future I might try something else so I can use the stock idiot light sender. I do feel nervous about any flexible hoses, and will keep thinking about options. Attached thumbnail(s) |

But the VDO threaded stud is longer than stock.

And the VDO sender bottoms out in the case hole.

I rummaged through my miscellaneous hardware and found an aluminum M10 spacer. That plus a pair of copper washers should do it.

One more thing. The stock sheet metal hole will not clear the VDO sender.

I painted the raw edges (primer and black). The rest of it is still powder-coated.
