Thanks, guys. Now don't jinx me. I know the 914 gods are sneaky and fickle. I MAY feel more confident after a couple of drives.

Back home, and a bit of 914 time. Still no oil drops so I put everything back together, starting with all the blower ducts on the left side.

Only a quick drive today, but long enough and time for a quick glamour shot.

Thanks, guys. One more good sign today, after the engine cooled overnight: no drips!
Finally, I can get on to playing with the engine tune again. Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

Hi Bob, I have likely sent a similar message in the past but its worth repeating! I cannot tell you how thankful I am that people like you and especially you take the time and effort to detail your builds in the manner you have.
Your attention to detail, kind explanations to us in the community and truly your photos of every step are incredible and so helpful. I have just taken my motor out for what I hope is the last time...will adjust valves, timing as well if I find a way to build a proper test stand) or even a not so proper one...LOL! I have been sprinkling more demanding jobs with less demanding and or fun ones...so buying lots of parts and more recently seals from 914 Rubber as well. All this to say, thank you so much for such a well documented build. Awesome!!! Best Regards, Grant |

I second!
Excellent work! You will need to bring a full mirror array to place under the car when parked so people can appreciate the level of detail under the car as well as from above. Superb! |

Bob
beautiful work. I use your post for direction all the time and now i'm confused as I see something and can't get back to it. .Doesn't take much. Oil temp. While looking for something else , I thought i saw you make a t fitting for the pressure and temp senders both on top of the motor. But now there's that one on the taco plate. What's up? Kevin |

I am very glad to be part of this community, and to be able to share my story. That has helped me as well, especially during some episodes that have been frustrating. Anyway, we 914 addicts have to stick together. |

Do you mean this one (circled)? If so, that is the adapter cable I made to connect the stock oil pressure wire, with female spade connector (for the idiot light) to the VDO sender, with loop connector. Attached image(s) ![]() |
