Amazing attention to detail. Great work by your son getting those printed; I see a market for those wedges. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Great, sounds like a business opportunity

Would he be willing to create a couple 914R tail light bases?

Update on mirror shims: I think we are close to opening orders, just sorting out a standardize shipping method. I will post an ad in the Classifides soon.

Meanwhile, to fulfill some new year resolutions (no more procrastination about 914 chores) I got into my cold garage to get started before the list gets longer.

First up: door lock problems. I communicated with Curt and he see what he can do with my old lock cylinders and repro handles. For access, I removed the door card and peeled back the plastic.

Ready to ship: both handles, plus some factory blank keys for duplicates. Now I need to remember the actual key. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Great to see you working on your beautiful ride. I have always admired your attention to detail. I really love the mirror bases and can't wait to see about ordering a couple of sets.

"cold garage"

A small propane would at least take some of the chill off

List is getting smaller, but aren't we always adding more than we take off?

Great progress

I have a 240 V heater hanging from the ceiling that really warms things up, but it also makes my electric meter spin.

Rebuilt handles from Curt. The problem was loose cylinders in the handles, so that the key was easily off center.

But first, time to sort out the passenger window. It was hard to wind, both up and down, and when lowered would tilt towards the rear.

I played with adjustments without success, and then explored inside the door. Surprise! The lower roller was not in the 6" track that bolts to the inside of the door panel.

Now I have to wonder why. I am pretty sure I got the window installed correctly two years ago, and the window used to be easy to wind. Sometime last summer it suddenly would not wind up without lifting on the glass.
