Hey guys, I’ve notice that after doing the above bushing replacement at the shift rod hinge joint- it’s quite tight.. takes a bit of force to move the coupler back and forth by hand. Is this normal after replacing the bushings?

Added vinyl around the seat base, vertically up the door opening, etc. I did carpet at the crossmember area, jus ‘cause I had a little extra left over, so what the heck.

I finally decided to stop procrastinating and get my interior finished. I started reupholstering my back pad. This pad was exposed to water at the bottom so I cut off several inches and repaired with cardboard and fiberglass cloth and resin. Also I had to create and rivet in 3 of the 4 tabs at the top.

My seatbelts absolutely would not move, neither of them. So I thought I’d break them down, clean the belts and lube the gearing.

I got them installed and now they actually work!! Unfortunately, they do require just a little help to get them to fully retract - despite my extra winding effort. So that’s fine, but I’ll probably eventually get a set from seatbeltplanet or wherever.

Next, I worked on my door cards. These are my old ones, original to the car.

Oh I almost forgot to mention… as much as I love the carpet, it’s relatively thin felling so I added automotive carpet padding. It’s made a huge difference in the overall feel of the carpeting imho. Also, the pink foam is an attempt to even out some of waviness of the tunnel’s carpet caused by the shifter base height and wiring harness - this may get addressed further.

Love the interior mods!

Different than stock but very well integrated.

Doesn't "scream" different!

Could have been factory...

Damn NICE!

Help me decide on the main battery ground placement? Battery will reside in the trunk from now on:

I could use the stock location for the battery ground. I’m not
Sure if there are drawbacks to the extra length (?) .. but then I would have to drill for another large grommet into the trunk - not liking that.

.. or I could possibly just add a bolt thru stud above the neg battery post and run a short neg cable like stock. Any drawbacks to doing it this way? :

I would put the battery back in the stock location. But if you are not going to do that, then put a stud in close to the battery tray and run a short cable.

And a braided ground cable is better than the one you show in the picture.
