Back at the transmission I added one of the shift rod input bushings from Rich @914werke Doug thanks for the shout out but you may have better success if you flip that bushing around so the flange is on the inside. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Now how does that make any since? How about some instructions next time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) And I thought I was gonna accomplish something that didn't need to be re-done this time! Oh well. ps - why is it so loose? |

Now how does that make any since?(sense) How about some instructions next time! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) And I thought I was gonna accomplish something that didn't need to be re-done this time! Oh well. ps - why is it so loose? Having the flange inside allows the full travel of the coupler. Not sure when you may have bought that bushing, but all those items do (should) go out with the attached instruction sheet. HERE As for being loose, 50 years of wear can takes it toll on that cast console regardless of the plastic bushing being sacrificial. |

I’ve pretty much wrapped up the wiring to the battery (that I’m relocating to the rear trunk)..

I’ve probably gone overboard.. but each connection will have a separate fuse.

Unfortunately my clutch and speedometers cable were resting on it in their normally installed location

So I made up a custom bracket to lower the clutch cable wheel about an inch

I don’t think the added angle will be a problem for the cable/fork pull, but we’ll see

So I think this has oriented the clutch and speedo cable low enough to not be effected by the heat … I’ve also shrouded them with a DEI aluminized woven sleeve. Also it does not seem to be too low either - but again, we’ll see

Here’s a shot of the gap I now have between the headers and cables
Ps - in the lower right side of this pic you can see a little custom stand-off arm/bracket I made up to keep the cables at a maximum and stationary position. It’s attached to the underside of the engine where tin usually attaches. Attached image(s) |

And hooked up the 02 sensor
ps - (excuse time (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ) my welds here were thorough, but looked like crap because I used a flux core wire instead of gas .. I thought I’d “smooth” them out a bit with JB weld’s ‘Extreme Heat’ as a seam sealer if you will. That stuff set up super quick which made it impossible to smooth out. Wish I hadn’t have bothered, cause it basically looks worse (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) But at least it’s all solid. Attached image(s) |

Built a small bracket to hold my USB charging port .. installed it under the dash using the cigarette lighter wires. It’s basically hidden, none of those wires are visible from a seated position. I’ve left the face cover/lid off for now - but may install it later, if the blue LED gets annoying but I doubt it will.
