Porsche is into building high end cars with a high profit margin. There is no reason for them to build a less expensive model, if anything, it would devalue their high end product. The intro Porsche isn't going to happen. It has in the past (914, 924, Boxster, Cayenne), and it has maybe saved the company. I see no reason why it may not happen again. I agree that it's not going to be commonplace as that would devalue the brand, but one new entry level car every decade or two could be a smart plan. As for the fan-made rendering. Looks neat. Certainly Porsche would take a more thorough design approach, but the image is good enough to push home the point. I would happily drive that car. But they no longer need saving. Their philosophy makes sense . If people are buying high end cars, why make a low end model. High end is much more profit per unit. Isn’t Porsche making record profits these days? If anything, I think we will see more high end special models. There doesn’t seem to be a shortage of buyers. |

I’ve been a member on and off for several years, due to my busy schedule (work and kids). I don’t (can’t) participate in many events. So the active members tend to be of retirement age. That being said, the social events are more geared towards the laid back retirement crowd, and not appealing to younger people. Take a look at your local POC or racing arm of the clubs and you’ll start seeing younger people. Have you been to Luft or Rennsport Reunion, Rare Shades, etc... the amount of millennial types are off the chart! Porsche is molding their future buyers just fine. An entry level Porsche is a used Porsche. I don’t understand how people don’t see that the Boxster/Cayman IS the current version of the 914. |

When they get an EV that will go 500 miles on a charge, I might consider one. But you are an old guy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

People who can afford ev are still not intrested
I personally think any tesla except the very first roadster Is #ucking obnoxious. As hell : lets put the most unqualified drivers ( tree huggers) Behind the wheel of one of the fastest vehicles ever put on the road . ... Really dumb . Ev is a Total waste of money if you have to buy a whole new car. And batteries will need replacement$$$ way more often then a gas engine Why didnt they convert your current fossil fuel cars . instead . ??? It would be way cheaper and the electricity that charges the car is made at a fossile fuel plant . so it defeats the purpose _ apparently Dont do it to the 914 .... Call it a 901 or something.lol Petrol heads to the end .... Then hybrids And i happens to work for someome who owned a gas station ( he doesnt drive ev s either) but a ferrari ,cobra,32 ford instead . and im sure gas station owners .who make big paper arent excited about ev s driving them out of business & shout out to the cheap sob Rant over ! |
