Day before the opening day of RR7 was the photo staging of "Family of Porsche Icons". Don't know the reason that #40 was center > but cool !

Marty,

This is more than COOL my brother. Totally over the top. Someone needs to make posters for our caves!

Best Bob B

And it makes a great wallpaper for my phone. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Will this be a poster some day? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif)

What a great steward for this ICON, thanks for taking such good care of her

Count me in for sure, I am sure someone can do it in poster form.

After we patch our rusted hulks together with a wing and a prayer.

As I remember your car liked the rain. Unlike a lot of other cars at Le Mans in 1970.

@Shivers we ran the track with period correct Dunlops (treaded) not slicks, as our exhibit class was non-competitive/ exhibit only. The car stuck just as well dry or moist tarmac, and front straight was always w-o-t 2nd 3rd + 4th (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

For every #40 photo I see, cannot help but wonder about the seats. I forgot to look when I was at RR7. There is so much headroom, are they tight to the pan? Maybe Sonauto designed it that way for helmet clearance?

Agreed, what I also have wondered was the ride height? seems like alot of ground clearance especially when near a 917. Who am I to wonder, the proof is in the history books

Will you please post closeups of the roof beacon light? Thx.

Have you checked out AJ Serrano's 914-6GT resource pages? One of them is this one: https://pbase.com/9146gt/factory_original_9...s_marker_lights

There's also this page: https://pbase.com/9146gt/9146gt_factory_rac...31020_sonauto40

Included there, under "Jon Lowe's photos", is this image--https://pbase.com/9146gt/image/25650223

maybe someone has asked already but what are you running for wheels and tires? Any spacers? Another question: Any details of the front trunk with the gas tank?
