Like it states.. I got a set of 9x16 factory fuchs that are being redone. I want to get tires mounted while they are at the shop. Thinking 225-50-16 front on 7x16 and 245-50-16's on 9x16's rear. Any one running something like this that can share if any issues please. I know it all depends but I kinda need to make a choice fairly quick here.
I'm gonna get a set of RD steel flares to install so I can work them a little if need be. Thanks, |

225/245 - 50 -16 are the popular choice with 7 & 9's.
They fit fine on most flared 914's, mine included. What brand of tires are you going to be running? |

i'm running 245x40-17 on my 9" Fikse. I was able to fit 255x40x17 Kumho race tires. My Michelin Pilots have an outer curb rib that rubbed on the fender, so I had drop down to 245

Seem to remember the rear flares need the edges rolled for the wider tyres but not sure about the RD ones.
As the OP will know tire selection is important to retain gearbox ratios and speedo accuracy |

Thanks for the replies.. Looking to see what sizes fit and are available. I'd like to get them mounted once the wheels are redone. I'd like a nice summer tire in 225/245/45/16's. My wheel guy can get pretty much any tire provided it's being made in my size. His shop is usually swamped at this time of the year but not as of lately. I was told weeks for turnaround time vs months as of now. That is provided the state doesn't shut him down. I'll post pics once I get the wheels back.
So for you 914 GT guys what brand are you running ? TIA, |
