That car looks great. As a matter of fact, it looks way too nice to be schlepping around the salt strewn streets of Pa. So here's what I will do for ya. Drop the car off at my place and I will keep it nice for ya here in Ca. and you can come back and pick it up when you finish Med School. I have a garage and everything.
Cheers, Elliot |

Shiny! I hope my spray-it-yourself paint job comes out half that nice. What was the "fine" for?

Thank you, thank you. The fenders were made by cutting and welding (they did it, I showed them how). The color is Graphite metallic (Crysler color). The $100 fine was because my car said Porsche, and looked awsome, and I was a gringo, and oh ya he knew that the Uhaul trailer was not supposed to be in Mexico. No, Elliot, but thanks. MW914, when I get going.....

The flares were a bitch. The best guy got them right hte third time before the paint. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wub.gif) Man I love them.
Her is one way... But I had them cut a circle about 2" in from the lip and then cut outward along the first cut to spread it, then add metal. Hard to visualise, but I cant find the pic. I'll keep looking. Attached image(s) |

Yup, you got it. Except I think that we also cut the lower part a little, too.

MikeP's flares had cuts and pieces welded in. The wheel opening wasn't as pulled out as much as the top however. I think Mueller did this to one of his previous 914's. Were the welds ground down on the inside? In anycase, they look nice.
