Ben,

Do you have low beams?

Do you have park lights?

PM me for my phone number and we can work with it on Saturday.

Clay

Clay,

I have low beams now that I got power to the yellow wire.. I have high beams only when I pull the switch back as if signalling to pass..

Will pm you.. Thanks again.

Did you try pushing the switch forward?

Sounds like you have a couple of wires swapped in the connector.

I will call you this weekend and we can work on it together.

For the rest of you, I will update the thread when we get Ben's working.

I am still suspicious that the 911 ignition switch may have eliminated some power source to the harness on the chassis side.

Ben and Clay, were you able to sort what was wrong with Ben's set up?

I seem to have the same issue.

My high/low beam switch only works when I pull it back towards me (flasher) mode. Lights will not switch between high and low when the stalk is pushed into the two forward positions.

Here's the wiring diagram I used.

Yup mine is all good. Ironically it was just the electrical portion of the switch

I think my problem is that that combination flasher (1971) is still in the path of the high and low beam wires. I think I need to eliminate this as the 911 switch works without a flasher.

Correct

I've been away and finally got back to sorting this.

I pulled the 914 combination flasher out of the path. That was definitely a problem with the 911 column switch. Now I have low beams, and I can engage the high beams when I pull back on the stalk towards me (flasher mode) and hold it. But I can't get the high beams to engage in the forward position of the stalk. I'm not sure which forward spot is for high beams, but nonetheless, both positions are now low beams. Any ideas what I may have done wrong? The headlight wires are routed correctly from the column and I've spent hours pouring over the wiring diagrams. Could the headlight relays be at fault? Not sure why they would work in one position and not another.

Does anyone have suggestions for how I test this to determine where the problem might be?

Thanks for any help. This has been a bit of a saga but I'm close to closing up the dash and moving on.
