That piece of urethane foam goes behind the carpet in the front of the passenger footwell. I that way, I guess it could be called a foot rest. Of course, there is the H shaped footrest seperate.

In late model cars that was the only "foot rest" there was. I took mine out. When asked, I told people that I took out the foot rest. I don't see what the big deal is. Seems like an honest description. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)
