Is the texture in the trunks/floor Line-X or some kind of truck bed coating?

6/17/23 man how time flies. I have been through a lot, and the car has been through a little. The factory engine is not quite done from the builder. Needed to put oil squirter‘s in. I picked an engine up from a fellow 914 world member, a guru of 914s. It has been well over 20 years since this 914 six had an engine installed in it. I want my father to enjoy his car over the summer, and this was the best way to do it. Happy Father’s Day dad.

This engine is a mixed mut 2.7. Has some strange 3.0 small bore dizzy #0231184006,
J&E 9.5 to 1 Pistons and Elgin MOD S camshafts. The carbs are factory 914/6 that Paul changed the progression ports to IDS, ventures (sp) were also changed for a 2.5S engine. I hope they work with a 2.7S/RS clone.....

I was hoping to have ready for gathering this upcoming weekend, but that is a pipe dream. Oh well.....

I had to push the car out of the garage. One of the other 914s needs its front strut replaced before this upcoming weekend. Unfortunately, I have to order one. Since I have the car outside, I might as well give it a few glamour pictures.Attached Image Attached Image

It has been a long journey with number 597. I originally started it because I could no longer work due to chronic pain. After two years of restoring this car, I found a new Doctor Who actually helped me.. I had the Boston scientific nerve stimulator removed from my spine and could actually get a MRI. I had two crushed disc in my neck, I suffered with more pain than most people could truly understand. After almost 5 years and many screws in my spine I am almost done with the car. Now in much less pain I am pushing to have number 597 ready for Carlisle, then the East Coast get together. I had the engine installed and ran it, but need to adjust the clutch ball pivot washers. I also have valve cover gasket leaks, Front main seal.

Looks fantastic. Great job. Glad that your suffering has been reduced. Back pain is a MF. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Thank you, It is a full time hobby/ stress releveling/ some times bleeding.... But the sound coming from those six cylinder engines always makes me smile...
