I've always wanted something like this for my 'teener. Reminds me of the smoked T-tops on my cousin's Camaro back in the day. I'd find a way to get the money somehow, whenever you're ready to pull the trigger on this.

People, these tops are not going to happen! I signed up for an earlier group buy for one in August of 2012. In June of 2014 I received a credit from Mark for my deposit and used it for some other parts. I was tired of waiting...

As much as I’d like to complete these there have been a series of setbacks. Mostly on the materials side. I have thousands invested and countless hours, but just can’t do these right now.

Part of this is due to the day job.

I will get back to this eventually, but more pressing things (like getting my sons 914 back together) have cropped up.

These were made from acrylic, we can get a silver, but it’s not transparent. The mirror isn’t either.

The problem we are still running into is the consistency of the material. It looks like we could do these, but we would have to place an order with the us manufacture directly, and the minimum is not small.

This is not the complete issue. With the polishing I have spent over 10 hours on each roof total, to do these, every other project will suffer for months.

We are currently working on the retool of the dash tops - to actually sell them for less than the solid rubber ones, as well as doing another run of the solid ones now.

So with materials and time issues these haven’t been at the top of the list.

Will I ever do them again, most likely, but not in the near future.
