Organizing a Friday drive along the Delaware up to the hotel. The idea is to meet where 295 crosses between NJ/PA. Same spot as last year for returning folks. Meet at around 11 and head to a little restaurant on the canal in Upper Black Eddy for lunch. Then it’s a 2 hour drive to the hotel. There will be sightseeing and photo ops along the way. Jon ( lvnzdrm) will be along. All are welcome. @rgolia @tonya @mepstein @beatnavy @mdterp @alapone @sjhenry Dave thank you so much for the invite. I'll pass this year since I'll be leaving a little later, and I'm going to take my time since this is my first "big" trip in the 914 so I'll be making a lot of stops. |

Leaving early from work on Thursday and heading up to Philly, last year was a little stressful traveling up in the AM. See every one in 2 weeks. Dialing the car in this weekend and starting the packing ritual!! What exactly is your packing ritual? Given that this is my very first trip in my 914, can you give any insight as to what I should bring with me? |

Bring a folding chair, BYOB, bathing suit, sunblock, some cash, bug spray (not sure how buggy it is), a big towel as there is no shade on the lot, so you may want to shade your interior. Phone with Google app and charger. That's all I can think of.

Between the new house and new baby ill probably be needed at home. I hope to be a late addition for Saturday. Good news is my hot start issue is fixed so if I do show up I wont need you all to bump start me to leave the restaurant after lunch!! Hope you can make it. Did you install the Mark Henry solenoid fix to resolve the hot (non)start issue? No actually I did buy the ford solenoid and was ready to do the mod but I wanted to replace battery also just to be safe. I bought the optima red that works for our cars and it solved the problem. Maybe old bat just not throwing enough juice for the old wiring? Old one wasn't that old though about 4yrs. Took it out for 1hr drive during the heat wave earlier this week and let sit for 30-45 min after (what would have been prime no start time). Got back in started right up. Repeated the process the next day all good. Maybe the more mechanically inclined among us can explain if this makes sense or I was just a dope with a tired battery! Likely both. |

Cooler with your favorite beverage is always a winner, too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Since this is a 914 gathering only Chardonnay is really allowed, isn't that right, Len? |

You would backtrack if you're coming out of Mass. But you're more than welcome to join in. We will be meeting where rt 295 crosses the Delaware river just north of Yardley PA. There is a park and ride there |

Lay out all my tools and spares, I always like to have everything laid out prior to packing. As I open up drawers there is always something I feel like I might need. Everything fits pretty tidy in both trunks. I pack a moving blanket Incase you have to lay on the ground, hand cleaner, zip ties..... it always just comes to me as I’m preparing. This trip will be well over 1200 miles in 4 days. |

Try letting it sit for just 5-10 minutes. Might have cooled enough. Doesn’t always happen. For some reason, turning the fan on juiced the electric circuits and usually got it started but now have the solenoid; has happened only once since then ( with a new Optima Red battery). |
