You do hear the fuel pump, yes? If not, check the relay, fuse, and both ground and power at the pump
Check for spark at the plug, check for fuel pressure at an injector if the pump checks out Gotta be something simple Tom, I’ll check for those hooks, aka the most useless thing on a 914… |

Anyone else getting there before check in at 4? I know Matt and myself will be. definitely, want to beat the Friday evening rush hour traffic. "expect" to get there around 2:00ish. I'm only about 70 miles away, but that could turn into a 2+ hour stop and go, bumper to bumper, traveling from East to West. |

Hope to leave about noon so get there 1:30-ish. A few beers in the cooler bag to hold us over once we get there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I'm hoping it's a clogged fuel filter. |

We are in PA and will be coming through Scranton Wilkes-Barre area into the Poconos so maybe between 2 and 3. Yes we will have beer. |

A couple of items -
If you are having cars issues serious enough to stop you from coming this weekend, make sure you cancel your reservation by tomorrow or you risk a penalty. The Hampton Inn requires 48 hour cancellation notice, which is reasonable. If your not sure, give them a call as they can be quite sympathetic This is why we choose a national hotel chain as it gives you that flexibility. Second, within a couple of emails were inquires about all the money we collect and how we spend it. Let me be clear - Neither Bob, Dave or I get a free room. We pay for our own shirts and decals just like everyone else. Every single one of our vendor prizes goes to the tricky tray and nothing to us personally. Each dollar we collect from fees or donations goes to the event. In fact, we took a little money out of our own pockets last year to cover some last minute costs and because of my underestimation or upgrades of certain items, that may happen again this year, but I don't care, I'm on vacation. We do it for no other reason other than we enjoy it. So let the fun begin Friday. |

This was the best run event ever, last year and I thought it was too cheap. Len may seem a little shady, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) after all he is from NJ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) but forgetabouit. Ill bring you all something. I am going to show Dave the difference between Dab beer and DAP caulk. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) |

What looks like an easy weekend takes hours and days behind the scenes. Thank you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) |

Believe me, MDTerp and I checked over everything possible. D or Ljet? 1.7 Djet. Everything is original with the correct serial numbers. I always look at the last thing I messed with, in this case the timing may be suspect |

Believe me, MDTerp and I checked over everything possible. D or Ljet? 1.7 Djet. Everything is original with the correct serial numbers. I always look at the last thing I messed with, in this case the timing may be suspect Yes that’s where we focused and reset static timing a few times but it wouldn’t fire up so we started to doubt if timing was the problem. When I installed my 123 on my car there was a light which was used to set static timing at TDC which was easy. We had the fan at TDC and the rotor pointed at #1 wire then set the distributor based on points closing. We did this again with the fan advanced 7.5deg. I would have expected we were close and it should run well enough to set timing but it wouldn’t start. How sensitive is the static timing to where it could be the cause of not starting? Do we need a meter across the points to set it accurately enough? Did we miss something in the procedure setting the static timing? |
