My console temp gauge either bounces all over the place or just stays in the red (even on a cold engine). Has anybody had this specific issue they sorted out previously? Thanks.

Sending wire is going open. Replace wire from sender to plug under battery with temporary wire. See if problem goes away.

loose wire between the main harness and the sending unit underneath the engine Hey George - where exactly is that "sending unit"? (your Tech Tips book is on its way!) And did the other respondent essentially say the same thing? Is that "main harness" by the battery? Thanks! - Rick |

Look on the bottom of engine. You can see where wire is. Wire plug in is under battery tray on engine shelf from main harness.

Crazy. We're working on the same thing at the same time. Not sure how I didn't notice this before posting.
