I was talking to Joe last night. Car is supposed to be ready for paint now! I am many things, but a painter is not one. Looking at any of the cars I have painted will tell the truth there...

Sometime soon I'm going to go over his motor and see what's trashed and what's salvageable. When it failed it let all the oil out - so I'm guessing a ventilated case. I've got a 2.0 case and crank and (maybe?) rods at home that have been sitting waiting for a project. This could be it. At least one head is likely to need reworked. His engine was a STRONG 2056, that got driven more then most of our cars ever get driven these days. Daily driver, at least a 100 miles a day between York PA and Baltimore MD.

While the temptation is to just source a running engine and get the car running, especially while it still needs paint getting his old engine fixed is the better play.

I need to get this rabbit engine off the stand so I can get his engine on it.

Underside of the front end is now 2k primed, and sprayed with a stone guard.

My garage is extremely cold right now so I preheated for 2 days to get it up to 65 degrees to spray and cure. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

So the suspension is now ready to go back in and will once again be a roller!

The list has been whittled down so much now to really just a lot of little day jobs.

-DS Rocker to jamb transition needs fabbed.
-DS window corner clean up. (already welded in)
-Finish outer firewall bottom 2" patches.
-Weld in floor Jack plates (maybe?) (I cant remember if we actually need these with Brad's reinforcement kit)
-Seat hinge mounts, which I need to order.

Lastly would just be priming and seam sealing where I worked on, so none of this needs redone again in our lifetime. lol

Light at the end of the tunnel is getting bright

Cheers.
