Yay! Solid floors again!

Lots of good pics.

Will be curious how you get the front inner fender patched up. Donor 914?

Yes, @sirandy . The car was clipped with a Ravenna green front in the 80's/90s. It's over-lapped and stick welded. Moisture has gotten a few inches into the over-lap.

It's been a topic of discussion between us how to sort this.

Since changing chassis isn't an option. I gotta fix it. Was planning to come to the hive mind here to figure out some ideas. Right now, it's fixturing it, cutting out the overlap until clean metal, 8" or 9"s at a time and welding in patches. Like this:

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-23209-1698166081.1.jpg)

Thoughts?

Other option would be a Patch or a NEW clip. I could just as easily form whatever the patch shape would be and to to be frank, I don't want to mess with a new clip.

QUOTE(jsayre914 @ Sep 23 2021, 01:44 PM) *

I have not checked in here in over 6 years (sorry). Since the Blowout. (car not me). I hope everyone is doing well and I would love to hear from friends, old and new. Cleaning out the garage today and I remembered I had a 914 sitting in there. Car is currently in Maryland (with me) engine, transmission etc. still In York PA 6 years later.... I have not even looked at my car for those six years. I just pulled the car out of the garage with my pickup truck. Go figure it would rain for the next 48hrs. I need to do something with it.

Now I have to decide its fate.....

No reason to keep a car that NEVER Moves...

Options are

1) sell it
2) part it out
3) put a new engine in and see what new problems there are
4) make it into a flower bed
5) wear a mask and drop it off at Zach's house 3am

*p.s. I miss you guys

**p.p.s. for those peeps that don't know me
I am just as nuts as anyone here....

We’re getting there! Savin another. Tough to balance 5-6 on going projects, but freeing some stuff up, so I should be able get the roller back to Joe by spring.

The main bits left:
-Put up passenger floor (basically ready)
-Figure out the frunk clip sitch.
-outer firewall
-rear trunk patch and a few numerous smaller patches around the car.

Looks like I need to clean my garage up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Jared has done a lot of work on the car-a lot! I never expected to see the rear quarter from my parts car on Joe’s car but glad it could be used for something.
