I’ll go with option 3 as well.

Thanks

Loaded question! A bit like asking what the best oil is.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

This one or similar should be sufficient for this job: https://www.waytekwire.com/product/crimper-...-metri-pack-150

I guess the more accurate question is what type of connections are being crimped?
are we putting pins wires or?? What is the proper type of tool for the job?

You need to crimp open barrel wire terminals onto the 2 wires on the 123 dizzy for the trigger points. The male terminals in the photo below, which insert into the cavities of the new female housing I am sending you, which mates to the male 3 pole housing on the FI wire harness.

So you need an "open barrel wire terminal crimper tool". You will also need a wire stripper to remove the wire insulation to expose the wire, to install the wire terminal.

So you need an "open barrel wire terminal crimper tool".

Cause Jeff’s too nice - I’ll reiterate this doesn’t mean the $5 set of hardware store crimpers you’ve been using with those hokey hardware store red/blue/yellow terminals

Thanks @jeffbowlsby . Received the kit today. I'll install this weekend.
Your work on this is very appreciated. Takes time and effort.

Thanks again,

I met up with @jeffbowlsby two days ago and he installed his upgrade on both of my 123's. I have one D-Jet and one L-Jet car (1974 2.0 and 1975 1.8) and both distributors are tune +. Obviously the trigger point connections are not an issue on the L-Jet, but protection of the wires, with strain relief and extra protection from heat, are shared potential problems. I'll let Jeff further comment on his technique if he wishes, but at branch points and at the compression nut there are double layers of shrink wrap. For example, both coil wires run together through a length of shrink wrap but at the branch point there is a short length of shrink wrap under the longer length that serves to add extra strain protection. I haven't yet put on ring terminals for the grounds so I left them at the provided length. Instructions say to ground to the battery, but are any of you grounding to another location that you think is cleaner/better? I can trim this later and add the ring terminals. Here are pictures of both distributors:

That's fantastic and a great target. I just got back to Indiana and my 914 and found the envelope waiting - as promised.
I'll get on it as soon possible - looks like the perfect solution!

It looks fantastic and even more importantly the wiring and connections are better protected and hopefully will give longer, trouble free service. Thank you again for doing this, and as always it was good to see you.

Now I only have to get off my backside and put them in. Having trouble getting over the psychological aspect of messing with smooth running engines...
