Yay! Looks great!
Having recently gone through the reassembly process after paint, it's very gratifying. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Man that is purty. You'll get a nice return on that investment (If you actually sell it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ).
Pretty sure I already mentioned it, but a black negative Porsche stripe would look so right on that thing. Or not, it'll look great either way. Random internet pic: |

Random internet pic: I'm rapidly approaching that mode, Chris. I'm having problems with the tan interior being supplied to me. It's off color so there goes any chance of doing the OEM resto. I'll put this to rest Monday and go from there. I like the look that PMB did with that L80E job a short while back. A little black powder coating on some trim pieces makes that white really pop. Wow, 6 weeks since I've posted my progress. As mentioned earlier I let the paint cure 2 weeks before I dove back into to it.
It's funny how something that was perfectly alright 15 years ago simply is not OK now! Attached image(s) |

And this time I remembered to black out those areas.
Air box got a new set of clothes. It's neighbors got new seal and polished chrome pieces. Front & rear bumpers were rejuvenated and got a new lease on life As did the front and rear impact absorbers |

As long as things were getting dressed up why not add the gas tank and it's expansion tank.
The Targa Bar cried out for new duds as well. This was fun; NOT. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) |

So cool! Literally went through this about 18 months ago. It's more fun putting nice clean parts together than tearing into dirty old parts.

Don't flinch but it is the closest I've found to OEM. It is "Hot Rod Black" and comes in a kit. Amazon used to sell it. I bought it from my paint store this time and it was $20 cheaper than what I used to pay at Amazon. Go figure.

I have found my local hardware store has items priced lower than Amazon every so often. btw: Great progress |

Nice job! First class restoration. After seeing that hell hole, get a Red Top sealed battery!

Damned Electrical Gremlins have me by the Arse. After installing the taillight buckets the right side wouldn't work. It only needed the bulbs and sockets cleaned. After that the system worked...........until I fastened the red lenses in place! Now the running lamps wouldn't work. Rear parking lamps, nada! Front parking lamps, yes. Brake lights yes. Back up lamps yes, No blown fuses and all were cleaned as well as the fuse holders (IMG:style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif) So I pulled the lenses removed the bulbs for inspection. Couldn't find anything out of the normal. Put the bulbs back in and lo and behold it worked again. Reinstalled the lenses and guess what. SNAFU. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) I'm going to check the ground junction in the engine compartment today and if that ain't it I'm stumped. The front ground junctions were all taped off prior to painting. I switched out the head lightlight switch with an unknown used switch w/o any results. That could be a variable. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) I'm going to try a jumper to ground today and a few other things and if that doesn't work I'll be back here begging for help.
