Thanks for the well wishes! Dyno was today and though I don't have the sheet yet the initial hp at the wheels was 210. With valve train loss that puts me right about 100hp/ltr. Pretty pleased with that for sure as the intent isn't to build a sprint motor but one that will last a few seasons.

So engine not quite ready and sent the car over for rust abatement. There was a small hole in the floor passenger rear corner l, some other spots on back sections, and various seat and extinguisher mounting holes from 40 years of track driving. So pulled out the offending sections after a thorough inspection and replacing the rear half. Using restoration design panels and a local craftsman familiar with our cars. Really pleased with the progress so far!

Question: paint the exhaust gray as original or black to match?

Cars looking great!
I'd go black on the exhaust, make it disappear! I'd want tip ends that match those GT stinger exhaust puppies you are selling. Sized properly for your piping. Those are COOL IMO! I'd want them black or maybe dark grey titanium colored. Your floors came out better than I expected! Those don't look like you will have to work them 10-20 years from now... NICE, NICE work! So two votes for black. Any gray purists or will black win?

Black disappears...
Easy to "touch up" later. You can find multiple hues of black at your FLAPS. My favorite is "Dupli-Color DE1634 low gloss black engine enamel" Pretty strong and heat resistant. Looks like the Falcon's stuff... I think the grey will stick out on a black car. |

Depends upon how original you are looking for. I prefer gray, but my car appears stock from the outside. Regardless, I like ceramic coated exhaust- much easier to maintain. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

I have definitely diverted some from original. getting moveable passenger seat bracketry installed tomorrow for example. I have a pdm and all modern wiring installed. So a blend of new and old with performance oriented mindset. Then again have old school period right engine and trans and suspension. So a blend.

Decided to provide an adjustable seat option for the passenger seat after all. This weekend had work done by the Amazing Jeremy Minamyer in Concord NC at his home shop. His background includes a lot of Nascar fab and custom work for Porsches. He is doing 550 parts and some special 911 work as well. His shop has some amazing metalworking equipment and he truly knows his stuff.
Had a little snafu with parts as the rear bracket risers that were supposed to be in our parts delivery had only one riser. Not good as we were wanting it done then. So Jeremy simply made one. Attached image(s) ![]() ![]() ![]() |

End result was very nice. Also have some BDStone seat brackets that will finish this nicely. A little paint and carpet and ready to go.
