Did the insulation today... combination of one layer of Dynamat covered by Siless Liner, a closed cell foam sound and heat barrier. Doubled up, hoping for a tolerable cabin. Also test fitment of the Perlon that didn't inspire confidence. I don't want to fuck it up so will likely bring in a pro to do it. Nice build! I just did my own perlon, its not too bad just get it not backed. Start at the top and go down. Then the part that stretches over the firewall hump (middle) will stretch out. Nice thing about the perlon is if you do mess up you can cut out the wrinkle later. You cannot detect patches. Just don't over glue it so the glue comes thru. One thing I will say is once it's done you can see any changes in the firewall that are 1/8" or bigger. But it's not bad though because you only see them at certain angles and the seats cover most of the view of the perlon. |

I will agree those headers are amazing, I have them and they make a ton of power (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif).

Last QC check is the cylinder head fit / fine tuning the fitment with thermal adjustments if necessary (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Sorry for the delay... this went on the back burner for awhile, as my wife got really sick with something called Polymyositis. Sucked for several months, but her treatment is going well enough that we're planning to do some car events and maybe a rally in Colorado next spring.
Anyway, the oil lines were slow going but thanks to the expertise of Brad @911Rennen and Marty's generosity, they are finally finished. Also completed the handbrake, solved the adjustment issue with a simple plate... they work perfectly. So, engine and transmission are in, we might actually finish this thing before the end of the year. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) Me too... will post that when it happens. It's a twin-plug 2.8 built on a 5R mag case, S crank, cams and heads, 46mm Italian Webers, real Bosch dizzy. We lightened the compression to 9.3/1 so it'll be happy on pump gas. Probably gonna be louder than expected. |
