I'm getting ready for winter time projects for my '70 1.7. My current harness is totally roached, burned, poorly spliced and painted over. Does anyone have a supplier for original color spools of wire and perhaps connectors, grommets, or plugs that I would need?

Someone here probably has the complete wiring harness from a car that was parted out. Just put a wanted to buy ad up in the classifieds.

Thanks for the replies. Im actually looking to do the whole thing myself. I can't weld or grind in my garage over the winter and I have the space and time to lay out a new one. I just need parts. The only option if I can't find original colors is to make up new ones and keep a record to translate. I would rather not do that.

Does anyone have a supplier for original color spools of wire and perhaps connectors, grommets, or plugs that I would need? When I decided to build my own wiring harness to add heated seats to my Boxster, I bought wire from Allied Wire and Cable. They offer TYPE TXL Extra Thin Wall (XLP) AUTOMOTIVE PRIMARY WIRE. It is a low tension primary cable that is meant for the following applications. * For use in automotive applications where small diameter and minimal weight is desirable. * Meets requirements of SAE J-1560 (now contained in J-1128). * Recommended temperature range -51 C to +125 C. * Available in solid colors and stripes with optional custom printing and/or numbering available. * Also meets Ford (Mil-123A) and Chrysler (MS-8288) That was a few years ago but I suspect it's still available. |

I’ve got 99% of the wiring harness I pulled from my car that I was planning to sell to someone who needed a whole one. I took it out in one piece and it hasn’t been painted over. Came out in one piece, only thing I cut off was the fuel tank sender connector.

Also check out ACDCSUPPLY on eBay (they and 4R both sell GXL/TXL striped wire). For connectors try Digi-key, I would suggest you want to try TE Connectivity AMP quick connection uninsulated crimp connectors.
