Hopefully they will chime in. |

Looks like some cars will fit 7s fine, and some will not.
The ones that don't, can be fixed with a small amount of rolling the fenders. I have a car that shouldn't be modified and wimped out. I got the 6s to be "on the safe side". For a 205 cross section tire I really wanted 8s... I went with 205/55/16. Absolutely perfect regarding diameter. Look great on the 6s. I purchased the Fuchs 911 copies from DR911 in 16X6 https://dr911.ca/product-category/wheels/16-x-6/ After purchase many members said I was purchasing from a rip off artist. DR911 came through fine for me. I am happy with my wheel purchase through them. In thf future with that vendor I will try to use PayPal instead of direct CC. If you're planning to change over to 5 lug, do your homework. http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=105728 PMB now has 914 front rotors with 5 lug and rear flanges that fit the 914 stubs with 5 lug (Uro brand). |

I run these wheels (Fuchsfelge Forged 'Continuation' Wheels) and almost that same tire - 205/60/R15s Photos of the rear fitment. Rear, after rolling slightly I can just barely fit my fingers. For the front I can comfortably fit my whole hand and see NO rubbing. Here is a shot of the setup 'in the wild' I think the fitment is pretty good. |

These are 8' on the front with 225-50's and 10's on the rear with 245-45's. They are replica's that someone was running on their 911 turbo.

Fuchsfelge USA 16x6 wheels with 205/55R16 tires on my old '73 that was lowered quite a bit. Long before I went 5 lug the rear fenders were rolled, so I can't really speak to rear clearance. Front was fine except at full lock & low speed it would rub the inside sidewall on the driver's wheel, and the change in scrub radius made them skip a little at low speed as well.

If you go to 7’s, it usually requires such a skinny tire ( less than 205) that it doesn’t seem worth it. Rolling a fender lip usually cracks the paint and at least in my mind, makes the fender look poor. A six inch wheel with a 205 tire fits without mods, 95% of the time and is still a lot of tire for a light, low, mid engined car. Too much tire can also feel a lightly powered car feel sluggish. None of this is an absolute but just things to think about if you think wider is better.

I can’t find a pic right now but I’ve seen 6x16” Fuchs painted to look like 15”. The black extends further up the face of the wheel. It’s what I would do with 16”. Otherwise, I don’t care for them over the look of 15” wheels.
