I took care of it; I hope it's satisfactory. Welcome to the club. That particular 914/6 my well be worth $5k, but I agree with the others. That car will cost you a fortune to restore and a *lot* of time. More than likely you will never finish it. If you've owned a 914 before or have a 914 to drive while you work on a project of that magnitude, you might have the passion to finish that project. Otherwise, it's not the best way to start. Ask me how I know... |

Last time I was on Maui a few years ago I saw a 914 on the way back from Mt Haleakala, I've been told there are a few more on that island and at least one original /6 from a fellow P-car nut that use to live there.....
These are not hard cars to work on, but it can be expensive and time consuming (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) |

Fact is, it may take the seller a while to unload that car in Hawaii.
You guys see the serial number on that car? 15 |

Mike - you recognized that it's a '71 car (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) but it's funny that VIN and engine number are pretty close to the car that other Austrian guy looked for (this week) they were 914 1 43 0041 and 6410014 |

The car is well worth $5000 (but that doesn't mean you couldn't offer $4000). Only you can decide if it is the right car for you. It is a solid beginning for a restoration. As with all 914's, rust is the issue.

Yes I did. Serial number 15 AND a 1971. I have to admit, I'd be more tempted myself if it didn't involve shipping from HI. |

I bought a car from California (originaly Indiana) same rust and the floor was falling out
Didnt run when I got it ,but it did run pretty good, not safe to drive too much rust , but complete -6, I paid 3000.00 about 5 years ago. I could not sell it in Seattle Times sell adds as a roller for 1500.00 Everyone said they could fix it untill they actually looked at it and then said it was too rusty. |
