I have to agree with worn .

That is what I would advise.
The whole house is a mess with preparations for leaving early Monday. Hoping to get close to Rapid City the first day. To do that we have to pass through humid 90 something degree weather with thunderstorms etc. I installed two relays that enable intermittent wipers using parts from a VW Golf. You turn the wiper on and then off and wait until it is time for another sweep. Activate the wiper again and the system remembers the time between wipes and keeps going. Sweet. Except that T-storms often require more flapping than say intermittent.
I will have my wife and grown talented mechanic son in the Odyssey sag wagon along with me. Currently trying to decide whether Apple makes a telephone so that we can communicate. Fortunately there is a “find my husband app”.

Day one went pretty well. Stopped in mid South Dakota. My phone and I argued about whether or not Siri has a hearing problem. Near Sioux Falls the rain turned into a flood of white water from the sky. My son asked if the wipers went fast enough. That wasn’t the problem. The rain was so solid that even with perfect glass I could see headlights at 100 yards and tail lights were even harder. Managed to change lanes for some motorcyclists under an overpass. Pressing west eventually got us through. On the other hand, to the west in Montana there is a good chance for snow tonight.
Looking forward to seeing you folks!

Billings MT was the stop for the night. Hotel is almost exactly like the Seattle Edgewater except that we are feeding prairie dogs from the motel window, not fishing. We started Monday in mid 90 degree weather but now it is cool. Speed limit is 80, and the 3.2 just lopes along with a flipped HB gear for fifth. So much smaller than the other cars. Shooting for Ritzville tomorrow. Then I angle southwards towards Bend.

Dad and I will be headed up tomorrow.

Making as much progress towards the drive, and finishing it up Friday morning.

What are those things under the 914s? I know. Jumps for the car extravaganza tomorrow. Can hardly wait to see you folks. About five hours from Ritzville WA. I hope that I can get there without the extra wheels, but have fingers and toes crossed.

If anyone ever shears the roll pin that secures the clutch pedal to the rod, yes it can be fixed on the side of he road with minimal tools (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) About 20 minutes into our trip today it happened, and about 40 minutes later we were back in the road. The M6 bolt and nut for the rubber latch in the trunk to secure the targa top did the trick as a replacement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smash.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sawzall-smiley.gif)
