In the old timey days, I used an aluminum 8Lb Tilton flywheel very similar to the above with rivets. Also back then, there was a lightweight Sachs sport/race 215mm pressure plate available from Porsche that included an aluminum friction plate that had a thick copper coating on the friction surface only.

I used this combo on the street and track with absolutely no problems, even daily at times in SoCal traffic.
