It feels good, right?
Congrats!!!! Let the six 914 run with the wild Porsche....

Good is much understated, how about SUPER, after mucho $$, several years, many brain cells, ......

Now I just need to sort a couple things and might be rolling down the road this weekend.

The taste of victory is very good, and the sound of a six (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

As I found out on my 2.7, set up the Webers on initial settings. I found them on line, set the fuel pressure at 3 psi and then adjust till it runs as you like it. We have all gotten used to fuel injected motors which magically start and run. But set up close to right, Webers work great. It just takes some futzing and a lot of patience.

I have been running Webers on several different sporting cars for many years, with success. Yes, they can be touchy, but I like the simplicity of them. When a modernish FI system is working correctly, there is probably nothing better.

I am getting different air flow numbers from my snail when comparing from venturi to venturi. Is this a sign the air adjusters need attention? I have always had these closed, but have never had a venturi to venturi difference in air flow. This is my first go with 3V carbs.

Yes, she lives and I have logged in maybe an hour of run time including a short ride. I have a hard piped oil pressure gauge and it reads ok. Changing the oil and filter yesterday, I found the oil filter dry. 0 oil. I pulled the console and everything lines up.

What could I be missing, other than a few brain cells

0 oil is odd. Maybe the oil filter has to be the one for the same console? You need to find a 911 guru, witch I am not.

@930cabman check your oil lines. Sounds like you have an obstruction in the oil lines. I have had a stainless braid hose that internally broke down and collapsed, closing it.

What console do you have? I have seen reports on the bird board recently that the filters being made go full bypass very easily

IIRC, the console is from PMS and the Mahle filter is from China.

I will check the console and filter. Was driving me more crazy than usual

Thanks all

What appears to be some sort of pressure valve inside the new Mahle oil filter has apparently malfunctioned. The oil filter console is straight through, so no possibility of an issue there. I had another Mahle oil filter on the shelf and looking into the center opening it looked different. I plugged it all together and now the oil is flowing through the filter (warm to the touch) and my hard wired oil pressure gauge is reading differently.

Victory and she barks nicely.

thanks all

Mann filters are the only option now a days. I have some Mahle left but once they are gone it’s all gonna be Mann

Been wrenching for 50+ years, never seen an oil filter close down. I have a couple Mahle filters left on the shelf, will probably go with NAPA Gold maybe sooner than later

Is the purpose to protect from over pressurizing?

If memory serves, yes OC 54. Kinda sad, I just did this a few hours ago. Guess this is a benefit to aging (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)
